Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf signs his new book OWN at MENDO in the Berenstraat
Last month, Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf received the Johannes Vermeer Award 2011 - a State Prize for the Arts - and this Saturday he will be signing his new book OWN at MENDO in De 9 Straatjes.
OWN is a marvelous overview of the oeuvre of this renowned Dutch photographer. This remarkable book is composed to honor his Johannes Vermeer Award, where Erwin was praised for his extensive and unique work and his ability to explore new ways. His work is famous all over the world and belongs to one of the most influential work of contemporary photography.
Besides famous and notorious work, OWN also contains new, never published before photos. The book will be published in two editions. Next to the normal edition of € 50.-, that comes out this week, there is also a Limited Art Edition of 50cm x 70cm. This edition is limited to 300 copies and has a price of € 1,500.-.
Unfortunately for the fans; the Limited Art Edition is already sold out, even before it came out! This says enough about the status that Erwin Olaf has achieved. But not to worry: the normal edition is still available at MENDO in the Berenstraat 11. And not only that: This Saturday, 19 November, Erwin will be signing his new book between 15.30 and 16.30 hours at MENDO’s.
So come to the signing session of Erwin Olaf at MENDO - Berenstraat 11, Amsterdam, this Saturday 19 November.
